Exciting Updates From Paws on Fraser
Today, August 20th, marks two months since opening our doors in this fantastic neighbourhood. We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people and pets in this community. We remark daily that every person and pet who has walked through our doors has been incredibly supportive. Thank you also to all the clients that have chosen to continue their pet’s care with us from our previous practice. We are truly honoured.
We have three exciting announcements we wanted to let you know about:
Extended Hours
Starting after Labour Day, Paws on Fraser Veterinary Hospital will be extending its hours to include Mondays.
Our clinic hours starting Monday, September 11, 2023 will be:
Monday 8am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-6pm
Wednesday 9am-6pm
Thursday 10am-7pm
Friday 9am-6pm
Saturday 9am-6pm
Sunday CLOSED
After Hours Triaging
In an effort to facilitate veterinary care for our patients outside of hospital hours, we have teamed up with a Canadian veterinarian-led company named Smart.Vet. Smart.Vet allows you, our clients, access to Registered Veterinary Technologists (RVTs) over the phone whenever our hospital is not open to take your call. These RVTs can speak with you to determine the level of care that your pet requires, and will then work with you to schedule an appointment with one of their licensed BC-based veterinarians for a virtual consult. If your pet requires critical in-person care, the RVT will be able to determine this over the phone with you and will assist you by making arrangements for your pet to be transferred for physical care.
The phone number you will use to access the RVTs is 778-743-4351. There is no cost for this call or any assistance provided by the RVTs. If you book a virtual consult with a veterinarian, there will be a cost starting at $115 plus tax for the consultation, with an additional $30 service fee if medication is prescribed. These fees are set by and go directly to Smart.Vet.
After a consultation with Smart.Vet, Paws on Fraser Veterinary Hospital will automatically receive a copy of the medical records to ensure continuity of care is seamless and easy for all.
Online Vet Store
Also in September, we will be launching our online vet store. This will allow you to purchase your food, medication refills, veterinary supplements, treats and fun supplies from the convenience of your phone or computer. Purchases can be shipped directly to your home for a small fee or shipped to the hospital for pick up. Stay tuned for the launch email which will include instructions as to how to set up an account.
